today i had NVM(national vertical marathon) outing! met up with gaius, shaun, richard, khant khant at vivocity for lunch. quite fun, and funny. miss those stupid conversations. but i died of cold in there. after that i went for dinner with my parents to celebrate the new year. HAHA.

i'm having withdrawal symptoms.

mahjong, shopping, driving.

gosh i played mahjong with veron, choon heng, juncheng(who gave me luck and left early) and ashley(who came late and took my luck away) from 10:30am to 8pm today. had lunch break for about 1 hour lar. heh heh. quite fun, because we played with the plastic chips and and we needed at least 2 tai to win.

anyway, yesterday i finally went to apply for my basic theory test for driving! woohoo! test date on 10 feb. how exciting :p. sheesh need to study again, may my brain still work.

after that, i went shopping with my mom at J8, and bought all of my working clothes! hmmx i think i might prefer working at a place with uniform, it's really more affordable. before i start working, i already spent so much money on clothes. heh. but i guess if you have great fashion sense, it can be quite fun lar.

yay going to have more outings on sat and sun. i'm pretty tired, and my room's all messed up still. got to start doing some work...

i'm having a bad hair day, my hair looks like rukia's. and btw, i can't stand inoue. total bimbo and useless, can't use her weapons well when she has so much potential. my cousin has a crush on ichigo and think he looks super sexy as a half hollow. like oh my gawd. HAHA. so see, i'm not the worst one around :).

Christmas, and reflections

i've just learnt something new from my brother, and i must remember it.

Attraction is cheap.

anyway, i am starting to not believe in True love. i do not believe that there is someone really suitable for another person anymore. it's just a whole load of bull. i'd stick to anime and manga characters, thank you very much, for my perfect guy. because i can just imagine him to be Perfect, the way I want him to be, and with the "bad habits" that i personally find endearing. a real human male will not be able to match up to our imagination and needs.

at this rate, i doubt i'd get married(although i really want to wear a wedding dress hahaha). but i still want to get pregnant. maybe i'd visit the sperm bank, HAHA.

i don't think that all of my experiences have been a waste of time(oh hell, we have loads of time. how many countless rebirths have i experienced similar things), even though i sometimes am inclined to think so. it's just kind of sad that i have given up on having a "perfect love", that i've finally stopped believing that a prince will sweep me off my feet one day.

sometimes i entertain the thought of going into the film industry. i guess it's because in my roles, i can live a lie, and perhaps have an enjoyable on screen romance where i can bluff myself that "the perfect guy" exists. heh. oh, i will love to be the lead actress in taiwan idol dramas. HAHAHA. dream on lar hui lin.

i need to be more brave and start exploring buddhism. especially when i'm in such a disillusioned state. i shall start going for buddhist fellowship's sunday services next year.

ytd, we had a class outing, and somehow the venue became my house in the end. had fun, chatted with my cousins whom i haven't met in a while after my class left. my young cousins are really growing up. time waits for no one.

today i met up with karm and ta. had a great chat. things are the same, and yet they are different. haha, what do you expect?

but i still love them, and hope for the best for them :).

Curse of the Golden Flower

today i went out with nuans at J8! veron was too busy playing her game boy(or was it online) so she pang seh us. great friend hor? HAHAHA.

ok JUST KIDDING. go veron, i support you in ur quest to be the strongest player in yu-gi-oh! hehheh ;)

anyway, so nuans and i ate shi lin's chicken, talked about loads of stupid stuff, and we went to watch Curse of the Golden Flower(i shall refer to it as CGF from now on)! oh my, it's VERY GOOD. i know, i know, everyone's kinda doubtful after looking at jay's ugly get-up and gong li's boob fest(oh was it an incentive??) but don't worry, jay was good. or at least, better than expected. but i was silently amused whenever jay and gongli appeared together, i kept thinking about his comments about how distracting IT is while filming. HAHAHA.

oh well, regarding the boob fest... it's really a boob fest. it's like boob boob boob. gee. never ending. so congrats to those who intend to watch CGF for personal reasons that i shan't reveal.

it's a super tragedy. and oh, it's better than The Banquet(TB). TB makes you pissed off at the end, causing you to cough blood. oh, no pun intended, really. and there are several anti-climax moments. CGF's mood doesn't seem to dip at all. it goes on steadily, like a snowball. and it gets better. oh, as a side note, people laugh when jay appears, especially at the beginning. not that he's sucky, but it's just kinda amusing.

CGF is more tragic that TB(if you love tragic shows). the ending is tragic, but it's good, unlike that of TB's. the acting is superb. i have to praise gong li the most, but i guess that's also because her role is such that she gets the chance to portray so many different emotions and sides to her.

oh, the set is BEAUTIFUL. GORGEOUS. DECADANT. feast for the eyes. wonder how much they spent.

aiyar, just go and watch it lar! it's worth spending the money.

anyway, i started watching this anime called Kodocha / Kodomo no Omocha. hmmx, it's ok lar. quite funny, but the female lead gets on my nerves sometimes with her high pitch yapping. and she can be rather dense. so, after 10 episodes, i've decided to give up on it hahaha! but hey, because of this anime, i got introed to 1 nice song, the opening theme song! so it's worth it lar. 10 X 25 mins. heh.

gosh, just got an email from borders informing me about the latest harry potter book. it's called "HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HOLLOWS".

haha just kidding, it's HALLOWS, not HOLLOWS. but when i first saw it, i really thought it was hollows, and i was like WAH LAO. NO ORIGINALITY. hahahaha. those who watch bleach will know what i'm talking about.

i'm done with bleach ep 107, waiting for ep 108 to be subbed. and then, woohoo! welcome to the arrancar arc!! can't wait for all those arrancars to appear, i'm sure the fights are going to be SO COOl. sheesh. how exciting. i'm becoming a hot blooded woman. HAHAHAHA :).

ichigo(esp in his bankai form!!), oh-san(zangetsu, ichigo's sword. ok well i like his fashion sense, although he looks a bit dirty and old), kuchiki byakuya!!! OH, so arrogant, SO HOT. toshiro hitsugaya(the kid, whitey-chan! OH, so young, SO HOT), Soifon! wah, veery hot. yoruichi too! gosh, hotness. well, nova is not bad too, love those comic moments between him and chad. pity he's a modified soul. -laughs like a maniac-

had diarrhoea since ytd night. vomitted too.

that happened at 2am when i was watching the last episode of ergo proxy. dammit. so yes, i have the last episode left. URGH. shall continue soon.

things were bad so i slept till 5pm today. just ate a thai coconut, and gosh, it rocks. it's so sweet and the flesh is soft and firm and nice. beats ubin's coconut hands down, HAHA.

still feeling a bit ill. this sucks, disrupting my xmas card writing. aiyar heck, at most send late cards, won't die right?

ooh, my stomach's churning again. nooooooooooo.

anyway this kind of diarrhoea is the very watery kind. to most accurately describe it is to say that i peed from my ass.

my bro, mom, me got it. also, 3 other ppl got it(from attending the lunch dhana). its so weird and random, you can't pinpoint the source of the problem. also for one of them who had the diarrhoea, her husband ate the exact same food from her plate, but he's not ill at all. also that same person have lighter symptoms than us(my family), and it doesn't make sense because her immunity is super weak. my mom had it worst.

after all discussions, we concluded that this is a result of bad karma. story goes that few hundred years ago all of us were little kids. we bullied a little boy who was eating a chocolate cake to give his to us. and the master mind was my mom.

we decided on chocolate cake because it tastes good and we ate it ytd as well.

digressing, fruits basket is really such a sweet manga. bah. kyo, choose me!

parfait tic, moon conspiracy, dhana

i'm reading this manga called Parfait Tic. gosh, it's very sweet, but also very heartbreaking. my heart has been torned into shreds in every 2 chapters. gosh. but at the same time, also very happy HAHA. and there are two cute guys in there(time to make up for the korea trip) that gosh, are so hot in their own ways. AHH. and they are all imperfect characters, that's what's nice about them. only thing that i find a bit unconvincing is that those 2 like a girl who ain't pretty, or perhaps below average. but she's very nice and sweet too lar. the manga has gotten a bit draggy though(it's having too many turns), gosh can't the mangaka end my misery and just make her choose one of the guys!! both are fantastic! BAh.

what a boring title, but yea it explains everything.

touched down at 12am today(16 dec, saturday). had my beauty sleep, and i'm as energetic as a pea! (that phrase sounds nice that's why) oh i'm feeling kind of lonely though, because i miss my friends. i need to go out soon =(. aw man, don't i sound so sweet and such a people person? HAHA.

ok i'm kind of in a mess(my brain), so i shall summarise my experience in korea in a systematic manner as i'm a very organised person. -nods-

The Good
1) Kimchi is good. but i only like the typical cabbage one.
2) well.. good food.
3) beautiful country. clean roads.
4) many many parks. most of them are by canals or rivers, and each park typically has at least 1 soccer fields and 3 basketball courts, complete with playgrounds and benches. those smaller parks without playgrounds have 2 soccer fields and 3 basketball courts.
5) Namdaemun Market rocks!!! this place, can shop. -thumbs up-
6) i met very very nice doctors. actually some of them are big shots. and they were surprisingly nice.
7) i learned a few korean phrases, woohoo!
8) i can ski a bit better now, i think. i need to practise a lot more. snow singapore, snow! (can imagine veron jumping ecstatically if that does happen)
9) every hotel i stayed in was GOOD. fantastic man. for the record, i stayed in 3 hotels this time. it's rare that i'm so satisfied with my stay.
10) i love their language and their very polite and sweet behaviour(service. in shops and restaurants etc). of course there are a few bad eggs arnd.
11) my mom is totally supporting me marrying a korean. she asked my dad to ask his korean friends to intro good looking korean doctors to me. HAHAHAHA.
12) super hospitable. i feel like a princess there (cause my mom's the queen).



The Bad
1) things are as expensive as they are in singapore. so no cheap thrill of buying stuff at quarter price like when you go to china.
2) i had to interact with those doctors but in the end it turned out fine. it's amazing that someone who hates socialising like me could survive.
3) i learned a FEW korean phrases. pathetic.
4) well, communication break down with koreans. that really sucks big time.
5) my nail cracked. shit.
6) my dad snores. URGHHH. oh that reminds me, i shall marry men who do not snore. and i want a written agreement that if he should snore in the future and we divorce because of that, i want full entitlement to all of his assets. -eyes gleam with greed-
7) the very large korean meals.
8) travelling is a pain because korea is huge.



The Ugly
1) no good looking men. i decided to put this in here instead of in "The Bad" because well, "Ugly" seems more appropriate.
2) (..cont from above) there were only 3 goodlooking men that i spotted in my entire trip. A doctor, a high ranking fellow working in the sales department selling medical equipment, and a hotel concierge. wth.
3) (..cont) the women are better looking than the men. at least i cld spot some above average ones. why does this suck you may ask. it's because i'm not a guy. bah.
4) there are some rude people.
5) koreans in general have very fair skin and have nicer complexions than us. yea, i'm jealous.



**Advice from the Guru/Me**
1) Parents (i.e. Credit Cards) are a very useful thing to have.
2) Avoid departmental stores unless you are filthy rich and don't mind joining the ranks of the common folk as you distribute your wealth away.
3) Be brave, explore the unknown, and always remind yourself that the resultant hole in your pocket is for a good cause. (applies to Namdaemun Market)

the reason why we went to korea is because my dad had a meeting there, and so my mom and i tagged along. the first day we arrived we had both lunch and dinner with the doctors. the second day we had a banquet at night. the third day we had lunch together with them. gosh, every meal they provide is like set to burst our stomachs.


shall leave this entry at this for now. too tired to continue. lost my inspiration haha. might edit it again.

going to korea

gosh i'm so tired.

today some of us went to fad's house for anime marathon. in the end, half the time was spent playing cards haha. oh, rat race(card game) is very fun! total brain drain after watching just 3 episodes of Karas. gosh. and the next episode will be out in april next year. DIAOO. >.<

before we left for home we went to play a bit of soccer. as usual, i sucked and i fell HAHA. how wonderful. i thought it was quite minor but my dad said that it's quite bad. bah. whatever.

just bought a new camera on my way home before dinner with dad. got nikon coolpix s7. looks pretty good. and it comes with a free 1GB SD memory card! woohoo. then i had a second brain drain while reading the instruction manual. grr. and i'm not done with it yet!!! -growls-. i'm sleepy.

i'm leaving tmr, midnight, for north korea.

haha jk. south korea i mean. haha. ain't i so funny?

please spare me. it's the lack of sleep.

Prom 2006

gaah prom is finally over. it was ytd(3rd dec, sunday) at swissotel the stanford.

hmm i feel that it was a success on the whole. although at the beginning the situation was quite bad(trying to chase the seniors into the ballroom). the emcee also quite poor thing at the beginning(nobody cared about him). everyone just went photo taking like crazy. i think about halfway through the audience started to warm up and things got better and more fun.

looking at the photos i took, i've come to 2 conclusions.

1) the make up artist wasn't that good. the loose powder wasn't done properly. a bit patchy. also, i think it was a bit too white :p.

2) i need to get a new camera. because something's wrong with the batteries and the connection with my current one, and somehow i look better when i take photos using other people's camera. my camera's flash and stuff not so gd.


it was really fun, but my camera battery went flat, and that pissed me off. got really tired taking photos though.

after prom, we went to fad's hotel room for a while and played a bit of asshole daidee. and they filmed something very stupid of me and want to put it on youtube(but i doubt that wld happen cuz they have to censor some stuff first. think they cant be bothered hehehh). we then went to haik's house, bathed, and played daidee and bridge(while watching a bit of DOA which sucked) and scary movie 2. i was a breathing corpse by 3am. and i was pronounced dead by 6am++(meaning i went to sleep). was half awake here and there and woke up at 8:30am. went for macs breakfast, and now i'm home. phew.

damn tired. ash is thinking of having the anime marathon tmr, don't know if i can tahan or not. somemore my parents will be back tmr(YAAAAYY) so hMMMMMMMM. see how lar. i shld go wash the clothes now but i'm just too lazy and tired!! ok SEE HOW FIRST.
